We are seeking a Brand Strategist to join our enterprise Brand Experience team and report to the Manager of Brand Strategy and Advertising. This role will be joining a team that defines and grows the Northrop Grumman brand: a team that seeks opportunities to activate the communications organization to deepen our brand story at every level and amplify our expression in unexpected ways.
This position will be located in the Washington, D.C. metro area (Falls Church, VA OR Linthicum, MD). This is not a remote position.
In this role, the Brand Strategist will:
Analyze performance of various strategies, formulate insights, and create actionable plans and recommend improvements that inform brand-level activity and marketing initiatives.
Support Brand Strategy team in the strategic amplification of portfolio/enterprise priorities and messaging frameworks that help guide communications.
Partner with Sr. Brand Strategist on core brand initiatives, including brand positioning, brand architecture, and naming strategies.
Support the development of creative briefs to guide ideation and participate in brand strategy development.
Develop and establish a partnership strategy, inclusive of sponsorships, awards, and promotion opportunities to support the business and brand visibility.
Manage brand touchpoints, including branded merchandise inventory and development.
Own the coordination and management of Brand team documents and materials, including weekly read ahead reports and competitive white papers.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to our business. Maintain line of sight to both macro and micro market factors and competitor activity and proactively seek out opportunities for innovation and improvement. Maintain awareness of communications trends inside and outside the aerospace and defense industry to help guide decision making.
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing) OR Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing) with 2 years of relevant experience (internship experience considered).
Strong understanding of branding principles and marketing concepts.
Strong analytical and creative mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and translate information into actionable recommendations.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and present complex information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
