Do you eat dinner just so you can get to dessert? Are you the type of person who knows the exact time it takes a pint to defrost on the counter? Or, do you have a drawer filled with bent spoons because you almost always dive into still frozen tubs of ice cream because you simply cannot wait? We’re looking for a Social Strategist who has a take on this important distinction and is excited to take @haagendazs_us to new heights on socials. 

 

⟡What has @haagendazs_us been up to? Booked and busy, tbh!⟡

In the past year alone, we’ve been evolving the way in which our brand shows up in the world. We launched our first-ever Super Bowl ad earlier this year that was highlighted by Hypebeast as its top five favorite ads. We’ve launched social collabs with Kodak and Ghia, and we are continually looking for ways to build out our social universe. We’re excited for this person to help continually push us to new places. We have a few other iconic moments we’ll be showing up in soon but shhhh we can’t tell you about those…yet.

⟡The experience we think this job needs and what it entails⟡ 

We know that social roles require different hats and we’re committed to ensuring you have the resources needed to make this the best work of your professional career. We have an internal team that is excited about continuing to unleash our channels, supportive social-first agency IAT teams and an amazing fandom that wants to rally around our brand. Let’s get into it: 

We’re envisioning you have 4+ years experience and we’d love to see how you’ve managed brand social accounts across major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube etc.) 

These are the three pillars of this job: 

OWN THE SOCIAL STRATEGY

The social strategist will continue evolving our social strategy to fit our brand tone and positioning. We know it won’t be a revolution on day 1, but a continued evolution. 

You’ll join IAT meetings with lead agency nice&frank to learn more about the overall brand strategy, and help them steward culture first work on the brand’s social channels. 

RUN THESE CHANNELS

The Social Strategist will run the different pillars that are required for a major brand social channel. Things like: Ideating, developing and managing the social content for organic and elevating worthy paid content. Being a pro at trendspotting, and having a take about whether it’s worthy of our channels, or not. Tapped into the influencer space with recommendations on who we want to build long-term relationships with and knows how to brief and manage them. You’re excited about doing brand social partnerships and have thoughts on who we should hit up. Lastly, we are a big brand. Sensitive issues happen, and you can help us manage those issues as they inherently will arise first on social. 

TRACK PERFORMANCE

You should have a take on whether we’re supposed to be optimizing for shares or follows. What’s the best format of reporting? What cadence? Roughly each month and ongoing, we want to make sure we’re reporting on social performance to help us optimize as needed and provide actionable insights to continuously improve engagement and strategy. This may include both Häagen-Dazs performance and/or a look at the competitive landscape both in ice cream and outside of it. 

EVOLVE THE CHANNELS

“Move at the speed of social” is both outdated, but also, still true. There will always be new platforms to test, new industry trends to be aware of and most of all, we want you to have a take on where Häagen-Dazs’ role in all of this is, and maybe even more importantly, where do we not need to engage. 

⟡We’re looking for your ability to speak to your experience with: 

  • Social creative: Social copywriting, visual storytelling with basic design tools.
  • Project management: You own the content calendar and know how to roll things out. 
  • Analytics: Can pull insight reports and craft it into a report to highlight strengths and areas for growth. 
  • Collaboration: Social sits at the center of how we communicate with our fans which means different teams and agency partners are involved.  

 

⟡But what are the details? What’s the compensation?⟡ 

Leading major brand channels such as @haagendazs_us requires experience. Experience also demands proper compensation and we take that seriously. The range for this role is $80,000-$120,000.  

This position will be based in NYC and will sit with our creative agency, nice&frank, 2X a week to allow for stronger collaboration with across all our creative. Dreyer’s main offices are located in Walnut Creek, CA in the Bay Area where we anticipate occasional travel.
