About The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Social + Influencer Marketing to set the vision and lead execution for Depop’s organic social media and influencer strategy across our key global markets, with a strong focus on the US. This newly combined function will play a critical role in driving brand health, global strategic direction, and growth.

You’ll report to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy & Creative, lead a team across London and New York, and collaborate closely with Global Brand, Marketing, Creative, and Product teams. This role is based in our New York office in Brooklyn.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and deliver a cohesive global organic social media and influencer marketing strategy that aligns with business objectives.

  • Lead new initiatives to increase brand awareness and share of voice among target audiences, working closely with paid teams to identify collaboration opportunities that maximize the reach of social content

Execution & Delivery

  • Oversee the execution of always-on and campaign-based initiatives, ensuring integration between social and influencer workstreams.

  • Manage external agency relationships to ensure consistent, high-quality output.

Reporting

  • Refine and enhance performance measurement frameworks and listening data, introducing new tools where appropriate.

  • Track performance and present concise, data-led reports to senior stakeholders and the wider business.
     

Collaboration

  • Partner with senior marketing leaders to align priorities and optimise cross-functional ways of working.

  • Collaborate with Product leadership to enhance the in-app and web brand experience.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across London and New York, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career progression within the team.

Budget Management

  • Manage the team budget across markets, working with direct reports to allocate resources effectively and involving senior marketing leads as needed to ensure success.

About You

  • Proven track record in social media and influencer marketing, ideally in a high-growth tech, social marketplace, or fashion e-commerce environment.

  • Deep understanding of US and UK social media and celebrity/influencer landscapes.

  • Creative, strategic thinker with a strong storytelling instinct.

  • Experience creating relationships with platform leads (e.g. Instagram, TikTok) to drive collaboration and visibility.

  • Skilled in organisation, project management, and data analysis.

  • Confident navigating fast-paced, evolving environments.

  • Experience both in-house and agency-side is a plus.

  • Experience translating social and influencer performance data into actionable insights that shape strategy.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, with an understanding of both the customer and media communication.

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience building and managing high-performing teams.
