The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. About DePuy Synthes

DePuy Synthes is a global leader in orthopaedics, advancing patient care through innovative solutions across joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine, and related surgical technologies. As DePuy Synthes separates from Johnson & Johnson to become the world’s largest, most comprehensive orthopaedics-focused company, the organization is entering a defining chapter—establishing its own corporate identity, voice, culture, and reputation while continuing to serve patients, customers, and healthcare systems around the world.

About the Role

DePuy Synthes is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Communications & Brand Marketing. This role is a key member of the Global Corporate Affairs leadership team and is responsible for defining and executing a unified corporate communications and brand positioning strategy for a newly standalone DePuy Synthes.

At a moment of significant transformation, this role will shape how DePuy Synthes shows up in the world—establishing a clear corporate narrative, building trust with stakeholders, activating culture and engagement internally, and protecting and enhancing the company’s reputation. The Vice President will lead integrated communications and brand capabilities that support business priorities, enable leaders, and connect employees globally.

The role partners closely with the DPS CEO and Executive Committee, senior business and functional leaders, and external stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and steward of the DePuy Synthes corporate voice and brand.

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Define and establish the corporate identity, voice, and reputation of DePuy Synthes as a standalone global company

  • Build confidence and trust with external stakeholders—including media, investors, and partners—during and beyond the separation

  • Activate a strong, cohesive culture by equipping leaders and engaging employees through clear, compelling communications

  • Ensure the DePuy Synthes brand is consistently expressed, protected, and elevated across all channels and markets

  • Enable business performance and transformation by aligning corporate communications and brand strategy to enterprise priorities

  • Build a modern, connected communications ecosystem that supports employees, leaders, and stakeholders worldwide

  • Develop and mentor world‑class communications talent, building a strong and enduring leadership bench

Scope of Responsibility

The Vice President has end-to-end accountability for DePuy Synthes corporate communications and brand, including:

  • Brand Management – Brand strategy, operations, governance, creative development, advertising, and promotion

  • Media Relations & Reputation Management – Proactive and reactive media engagement, issues preparedness, and crisis response

  • Financial Communications – Corporate financial storytelling and investor communications in support of business performance and milestones

  • Culture & Employee Communications – Enterprise internal communications, change communications, leadership messaging, and ownership and governance of the company intranet as a core employee engagement platform

  • Executive Thought Leadership – Positioning and visibility for the CEO

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic vision and integrated plan for corporate communications and brand for DePuy Synthes as a standalone company

  • Serve as counselor to the CEO and Executive Committee on communications, reputation, and brand matters

  • Stand up and develop a high performing global Corporate Communications & Brand organization

  • Create and own the DePuy Synthes corporate narrative and ensure consistency across internal and external channels

  • Build and protect the company’s reputation through strong media, executive visibility, and issues management

  • Establish and govern brand standards, creative frameworks, and approval processes to ensure global consistency with local relevance

  • Oversee intranet strategy and evolution as a primary channel for employee engagement and alignment

  • Translate complex business strategy and transformation into clear, actionable communications for employees

  • Partner closely with Corporate Affairs, Legal, Finance, HR, and business leaders to deliver integrated, enterprise-wide communications

  • Advance a digital first, data informed communications and brand model

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, brand leadership, or related disciplines

  • Prior experience serving as the most senior communications leader for a company, business unit, or global enterprise

  • Demonstrated success leading corporate communications through transformation, change, or corporate transition
